Non-Degree Culture and Language Programs
Thunderbird’s Language and Culture Center offers a variety of non-credit courses to meet the needs of both MBA/Masters students and corporate customers.
Understanding language and culture is the bridge that connects companies and individuals in the global marketplace. The Thunderbird Language and Culture Programs (TLCP) are uniquely designed for the needs of individuals around the world.
Current programs include:
- The Language and Business (LAB) The LAB Program hosted at Peking University. The curriculum focuses on the development of Chinese business language and cultural skills for those who may conduct business in China.
- Intensive Spanish is also available and often taken by MBA IM students to fulfill their MBA IM graduation requirement to demonstrate proficiency in a second language.
- The Pre-MBA/Masters Intensive English Program builds business English skills and confidence for international students entering Thunderbird's prestigious MBA program or another graduate business program.
- GMAT and TOEFL Preparation Programs are available to students who need to prepare for the tests or improve their current scores to enter an MBA program
- Customized Language and Culture Programs provide intensive training for executives to increase their ability to conduct business in different countries and cultures
Thunderbird’s custom programs for corporate customers include courses in cross-culture communication and/or negotiation skills, and English for Specific Purposes (ESP) programs, designed for the specialized needs of industries such as hospitality, tourism, medical, banking, high technology and more.
Faculty
Thunderbird's faculty are fully dedicated to global business and are uniquely qualified, not only as academic leaders, but also by virtue of their consulting experience with major corporations around the world.
