(GLENDALE, Ariz.) July 10, 2008 —Thunderbird International Business Review (TIBR), the business school’s journal of global management, received an Award of Excellence from Awards for Publication Excellence (APEX) in the category of best redesign. The annual competition was open to writers, editors and business and nonprofit communicators.
TIBR supports the active exchange of ideas and research among international business leaders and practitioners and the applied scholars who study global business. The recognition was announced in June at the 20th annual APEX Awards for Publication Excellence competition.
TIBR underwent a complete internal and external redesign during 2007 and was entered for the competition in 2008 by publisher, John Wiley & Sons, Inc. The new format premiered with the November/December 2007 issue.
“Thunderbird International Business Review is well underway to becoming the most trusted source of innovative and useful thought leadership for global business leaders,” said Mary Teagarden, Ph.D., professor of global strategy and editor of TIBR. “We intend to be the intellectual sandbox for thought leaders in the business world.” She said the APEX award recognizes the journal’s achievements in promoting the active exchange of ideas and research between academics and global leaders who create sustainable prosperity worldwide.
This year’s APEX competition received nearly 4,500 entries in 110 categories. Criteria for the awards included excellence in graphic design, editorial content and the ability to achieve overall communications excellence.
